The wi-fi service Eduroam is now available for staff and students to use at Weston General Hospital and Academy. A one year pilot has been launched by IT Services and the Medical Education e-Learning team at the University of Bristol, and IT staff at Weston General Hospital. If successful, the pilot will become a University supported service. We hope to see Eduroam rolled out to other Clinical Academies to provide a wireless service throughout the major teaching hospitals. Staff and students will then “remain connected” within their busy hospital environment, wherever they are based. This pilot may offer benefits for mobile learning for our medical students, offering greater flexibility to connect to the internet when studying.
