Information and Consent Forms

Recording Educational Activities Policy Document

This document sets out the University’s policy on the recording of educational activities. Educational activities may include lectures, lab demonstrations, presentations or other academic teaching and student assessments.

External Lecturers Briefing Document

This is a downloadable form that explains what you can expect when lecturing in a room fitted with the Mediasite system. The information sheet explains that you may be recorded by taking part in a scheduled lecture, and also includes information on how the recording system (Mediasite) works and how you can consent if you choose to.

University of Bristol Recording Consent Form

Further to the above Briefing Document, this consent form should be completed by external lecturers who have been, or will be recorded. If you choose to consent, please complete the form and send it back to your University contact.

“Hearing things in the voice of a lecturer is motivational as well as more fruitful than simply going through the notes”

“I have the lectures on Mediasite going in the background as I’m making notes so I can really focus on what’s being said, rather than trying to note it down quickly like I do in lectures”
